Hello, I’m Talia.

For the last decade or so I have been a lawyer in the trenches of family court, walking with people through some of the most difficult relationship disputes you can imagine. During that time I have observed patterns in the relationships that go wrong. I have learned there are clear and concrete things people can do to avoid ending up in a courtroom bloodbath. And even better than that, these are things people can do to build relationships that are healthy and fulfilling.

Before I became a lawyer, I really thought I was going to be a psychologist. I took a psych class in high school and fell in love. I continued my studies into college and graduated with a social sciences degree with psychology and sociology concentrations. I’ve always been fascinated by people and have held a deep desire to help make the world a better place, so psychology felt like a natural fit. In the way that it does though, life had other plans for me. I joke that I accidentally went to law school, but wound up practicing psychology anyway in family law.

I experienced my own difficult divorce in 2018, which dramatically changed the way I viewed my work as a lawyer. I have come to believe so strongly that the courtroom is no place for families to resolve disputes. I have pivoted my law practice away from litigation entirely and only take a limited number of mediation and consulting cases now. I’m focusing my energy on helping people through coaching.

I am also a wife, dog and horse mom, and farmer. When I’m not in front of my computer, you can usually find me in Carhartts and muck boots, or out on a mountain trail somewhere. I believe peace is powerful. And I believe your next chapter can be your best one.

Thanks for being here.
